Maybelline Velvet Matte (Mat 1) Review and Swatches

The color of this one is extreeeemely hard to photograph!!! I’ve been taking photos of this shade in several episodes over the past few weeks now, but I still can’t capture the vividness of the color! It still looks mellow here, but it’s already the most vivid that I can afford to show. It’s got a neon thing to it that’s so difficult to capture in photos.

And hooray again for this doe foot applicator that makes it easy to apply the product.

And this is the swatch. This is not doing the shade any justice because the color is much more vivid than this! And it’s less grayer and cooler, too.

This is the best effort to show how vivid it is, but it’s still more vivid in real life. This is a perfect Barbie hot pink. I like that the formulation of this shade is very emollient and comfortable to wear.

For some reason, the very bluish base of this color helps a lot to create an illusion of whiter teeth.

If you are planning to do a Barbie or Bratz look this Halloween, this will surely be a great thing for you to have. I can really imagine Barbie having this in her purse while going out on a date with Ken.

I love this shade because I’m more of a pink girl than a red girl. I love bold, vivid pinks, as it makes my pale skin seem less pale, without being too shocking that all attention goes to the lips.

Since this is a thick and somewhat glossy formulation, I feel that this will appear on most skintones and be flattering. It’s the right kind of vivid for everyday use, and I really want to use this all the time from now on.
