Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade (Caramel) Review and Swatches (Holy Grail Product)

Shade Selection: There is definitely a shade for everyone given that this product has 11 shades overall. They have accounted almost every skin tone, hair color, and undertone preference most people would commonly have. I highly applaud them for churning out an 11-shade eyebrow range when most other brands would usually just churn out 3-4 shades for an eyebrow product line. 

Color Payoff and Pigmentation: This is definitely the gold standard in color payoff and pigmentation, as you need just a tiny little bit product to be able to differentiate one shade from the next. The pigments also adhere to the skin and brow hairs easily, so it’s reaaaally easy to get this to color your brows. It’s way too easy to get this to be opaque on the brows, and for that matter, people actually worry more about getting too much product on them. For me, this is how pigmented any brow product should be. Some brow products take just way too much effort to get the color to appear defined, which is why this product stands out. To add, some brow products look pigmented in real life, but the moment you;re photographed under harsh studio lighting, the brows look so weak. This is one product that looks as pigmented in studio settings as in real life. 

Texture: As this is a pomade, this is technically its own breed of product. It’s not a powder nor a pencil, but feels a lot like a soft eyebrow pencil, just in jar format. The pomade is velvety smooth, dreamy, and matte. It’s not mousse like, though, unlike the usual texture of products sold in mini jars like this. This pomade has a tendency for the top layer on the jar to become dry, so it’s up to the user to recognize when this is happening and to try to carve it off. I’ve seen feedback that this dries too fast and becomes unusable, and there’s even a slew of tutorials on reviving dipbrow pomades. But thus far, I think it really just is all about recognizing when the top layer has become dried and crusty and carving it off. 

Ease of Usage and Blendability: For me, an eyebrow product is hard to use if it takes me ages to get the color to appear on my brows. So in that aspect, this is among the easiest to use. It takes so little effort to make IG worthy brows with this product. But I understand that for some people, there is a learning curve to this product. My mom actually doesn’t like this product because for her, it sets too fast, and it becomes difficult to blend once it has set. I get where mom is coming from because in general, I think that you already more or less have to know how exactly your brows will look like before you put this on. If you’re the kind of person who applies and applies a product, and then tries to wipe the excess off when you’ve overdrawn on one brow, this will be hard to use. It’s difficult to wipe this off once it sets, so you really have to carefully make baby steps, or have your brows calculated from the start, to make sure to nail it. 

Longevity: No doubt, this is one of the most long lasting brow products out there. I’ve worn this to like any occasion that has mattered to me in like the past two years. I wore this to graduation photo taking, graduation day, Charis Beautiful Journey, and literally any important occasion. This is automatcally my go-to product for any special event as it’s so pigmented and pretty in photos, but also because this really will not wear off the whole day. Even when it’s so hot, this will stay put. This more or less only wears off once you use an oil based makeup remover on your brows. 

Value For Money: This is $18 in the US, and I got this for Php1100 from Look Cosmetics (they’re on FB and IG), and this jar is 4g. For me, this is actually a very good investment because there is just sooo much product relative to how much you’d need for your brows at a time. It’ll take someone at least one year to use up one of these, even with everyday usage. To add, the quality is really just so good that this is a better deal than buying 3-4 subpar eyebrow pencils with the same amount of money. 

Overall Feedback: This is definitely a favorite of mine, and obviously a darling of YouTube. I love how this takes so little effort to define my brows, how it sets and stays put all day long, and how pigmented it is even under harsh lighting. This is definitely my go-to product for any occasion that matters, and I never really felt that this was high end or expensive because this works so well that it provides better value for money than tons of other products in the market.
