Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion and Body Wash Review

Definitely mom’s favorite! Mom always looks forward to whenever I get Aveeno. Mom is allergic to like everything right now, but thankfully, she’s not allergic to oatmeal.

Personally, I love Aveeno because I like the oatmeal smell going on, and the fact that the texture is lovely. As someone who washes dishes frequently, I love how this is one of the few moisturizer brands that does not wear off from the skin in one wash. Sometimes, I get so annoyed when the moisture of a lotion wears off in one wash.

What makes Aveeno different? It’s the presence of colloidal oatmeal. There are plenty of oat themed items in the market, but usually, it’s just oatmeal scented. There’s no real oatmeal in the actual product. Aveeno, on the flipside, has real finely milled oatmeal flour in a gel-cream format. This is how it provides real relief with real ingredients.

The lotion is available for Php650 for a 354mL bottle at Lazada, and at leading drugstores and beauty retailers. For those who have sensitive skin, this is definitely much cheaper than other specialty lotions, especially for those who have eczema. Of course, this is a lotion and has no claims for medicinal properties, so one should still not self medicate with this lotion.

Thankfully, they have a corresponding body wash for this range, which retails for Php460 for a 354mL bottle at Lazada. I’m thankful for this coz I feel that the body cleansers for people with sensitive skin is extremely limited. All I could think of are Cetaphil, Physiogel, Oilatum, and the sulfur soap brands. I’m sure I missed out some brands, but I think you get what I mean that the choices are indeed limited. The rest of the offerings in the market are heavily scented body washes/body cleansers that could be irritating on sensitive skin.

One genius thing Aveeno did was to send us home with our own MiLi moisture meters. It’s a bluetooth skin moisture measuring device that has a downloadable app. Sometimes, it’s hard to tell people that something is moisturizing without the numbers, so finally, there’s a way to quantify it.

As seen here, my skin reading is 20.4% before I applied Aveeno lotion, which is in the dry range. It’s still just on top of my skin but hasn’t been spread out yet.

After application, the moisture is now up to 40.9%, and is within hydrated range. The best part is even if you wash the area, you’d still get a similar moisture reading afterwards.
