Céleteque Ultra Nourishing Lip Lacquer (All Shades) Review and Swatches

This is yet another overdue review!!! When I got a whooole lot of Céleteque items last year, I wasted no time blogging about the eyeshadows and eyebrow stuff (if I remember correctly). In my mind, I had finished off doing all the reviews for all the makeup from Céleteque last year. I actually forgot this was actually still a draft! My hair was still blonde when I shot the headshots!!!!

But yes, without further ado, let’s get started!

Shade Selection: Céleteque released three shades for this product, namely Natural Nude, Soft Pink, and Velvet Red. I find it practical actually, as the few shades mean consumers don’t get so confused. Also, these aren’t 100% opaque to begin with, they needn’t churn out too many specific iterations of each color family.

Color Payoff and Pigmentation: These are not meant to be 100% opaque, as this is a lip lacquer. But these are strongly tinted, so you need not exert much effort to make the colors show up.

Texture: This is a lot like the hybrid of lip gloss and lip oil. It feels thick like a lip gloss, but when you apply it, it doesn’t act sticky whenever you pucker your lips. It’s packed with castor oil and Vitamin E, so you somehow do feel the presence of the two in the texture. But definitely, this doesn’t leave a bad taste and is not greasy. It’s also thick enough that it doesn’t flow on its own, so you don’t end up unwillingly eating the product, unlike what usually happens with conventional lip gloss.

Comfort: Surprisingly, these are really comfy to wear, despite having so much oils going on! I found these to be soothing and nourishing. It doesn’t feel heavy, despite being thick, and is at just the right viscosity that it doesn’t move around, but also is runny enough that you don’t feel like your lips are glued shut.

Longevity: This usually stays put on me for 2-3 hours or so, assuming I don’t eat or do anything. It needs to be reapplied quite often. It’s not very long lasting, but as it’s very nourishing, it gets away as a lip balm.

Value For Money: While it’s generally a good product, I’m also quite shocked at the Php545 pricing for a 1.6mL tube. Most liquid lipsticks and lip glosses in the market these days are at 5.0mL, and usually are priced similarly, or even less. Castor oil is expensive, but I’m still quite shocked at the price point given the amount of product in each tube.

Overall Feedback: If you are the kind of person who hates matte lippies (trust me, there are people who are like this!), you will definitely like this product. I feel that these lacquers will work best on people who lead a no frills lifestyle, and want a product that comes with shine, comes in cute shades, but is not overly dramatic to use. It’s also quite practical as it’s nourishing, so if you want a daily lippie that heals your lips as well, then you will like this.
