Overall Feedback: 

Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint really behaves as what can be constituted as lip lacquer these days––it’s runnier and less sticky than a gloss, but definitely not a lipstick nor a lip tint, nor a lip mousse. The texture is quite unique, I’d say it’s its own kind of lip product. 

The selling point, of course, is the intense coloration of the product. What I like is that this is buildable, so if one applies this thinly, it can go on a bit (just a bit!) translucently and have a satin finish. But when piled on thickly, it can be opaque and glossy. For the most part, it’s opaque, pigmented, and takes little effort for the color to come through. It glides on smoothly, and can be easily applied thanks to the doe-foot applicator each one comes with. 

It’s really comfortable on the lips, especially for someone with eternally dry lips like me. It’s got a soft lip balm like feeling on the lips, and it’s not sticky. There’s also no annoying powder feeling as it’s not matte. The only downside to this is that it really doesn’t stay put for long, especially if one eats. One will really need to expect to retouch throughout the day, 

But at $5.79 for 6.4mL, it’s already reasonable as it’s more generous than most lippies of the same price tier. At the end of the day, it’ll still take quite some time to use up one of these, even assuming if the person is retouching all the time.
