Overall Feedback:

Careline Soft Suede Lipstick is so luxurious I often forget it’s just Php165! The colors are sophisticated, the texture is soft and dreamy, and the matte finish is impeccable! I’m really impressed by this release from them.

The finish is totally matte, and while it has a powdery texture, the powdery feel is something that becomes negligible once the product is applied. Some powdery lipsticks have the fault of ending up being too hot and heavy on the lips, but this feels light and wispy. I often forget I am wearing lipstick because of how lightweight the texture feels like.

The texture and finish also are the reasons why Careline Soft Suede Lipstick is a very comfortable matte lipstick, even for those with dry lips. This doesn’t skid while being applied, which is amazing for a truly matte lipstick. Many matte lipsticks are so waxy that there is so much skidding during application, but this one is truly soft and goes on with a buttery application.

The shades are all brown based, with differing takes on brown. We’ve got mauve browns and brick browns, and a coral nude brown as well. These shades look so high end in real life that I often forget that I’m using something that’s worth Php165 because it looks like something that costs Php1650 (or more)!

In terms of staying power, as this has a soft texture, this will need to be retouched throughout the day if one is to eat oily foods. But it goes on thinly that it doesn’t move around as much as other lipsticks that when I eat and drink, it fades, but doesn’t fade so intensely that the faded part is so obvious. It also helps that these are medium depth brown-based pigmented shades, so the colors are vivid enough that they don’t just wash out so easily.

Overall, at Php165 for each lipstick, Careline Soft Suede Lipsticks pack so much value for money in each shade. The texture, finish, color payoff, and shade selection were all done immaculately well. Anyone looking for good brown-based shades or comfortable matte lipsticks for every day should definitely check this out!
