Overall Feedback:

BlackRouge Airfit Velvet Tint Season 1 surely has come a long way! I think we’re now at Season 5. I have already reviewed these before in a post in 2018, but I wanted to re-review these with individual posts for each shade so that I could add more photos. I also thought that having all the shots for all the shades in one post was kinda overwhelming, so I’m separating it this time around.

This first season is known to be an exploration of reds, and indeed, this has been the collection that has made me learn to love reds. For the longest time, prior to owning these, I would stick to nudes and coral pinks. I found reds to be a little too tricky to wear, and I’d usually just review reds because they were part of collections I was reviewing, not because I was particularly fond of them. This collection changed all that. I now love reds, and I appreciate how these reds work so well in giving life to my very pale skin tone.

As the name “Blackrouge Airfit Velvet Tint” implies, this is a very lightweight and airy tint. Texture-wise, it’s a lot like pore eraser, wherein it feels velvety soft, and you know that it’s there, but it doesn’t feel hot nor heavy in any way. This was among the first mousse tints I encountered, especially in 2018 wherein most tints made at the time were runny and clear, I like the texture a lot because it blurs out cracks on my lips, and the product applies evenly, unlike traditional tints which tend to stain chapped skin more than soft skin (and thus producing uneven results). This is among the most comfortable tints I have ever encountered, and years later, I still love these tints.

This is very pigmented, and very buildable. You can dot a little bit of product to get a little tint of color. You can build this up to the opacity of a lipstick. I also use these often with lip balms for added comfort, so I use this as a way to add fun to my lip balm. If I apply it really thinly, this will stay at full intensity for as long as I don’t eat nor drink. It will fade over a few hours, but it does leave a nice tint on the lips that can last throughout most of the day. If you want this to stay at full intensity all day long, you’d need to reapply every few hours or so. But if you’re fine with this fading to a nice tint on the lips, you need not reapply.

Definitely, if you’ve been fascinated by reds, but never had the confidence to sport reds, this is the collection for you. You’ll surely find your match here. In hindsight, K-pop stars have really red lips, but we don’t feel the color stand out because it flatters them in a good way. You only realize how red their lips are once you already pay attention, and that’s actually the goal, I think. The best red is a red that livens up your entire aura without stealing the show, and this collection is full of those kinds of reds.
