My Maybelline FitMe! Sale Lazada Live (March 2, 2020)

Thank you to all those who tuned in another livestream! This one was very special to me as it marked officially two years of livestreaming for the L’Oréal group. My first ever livestream was on March 2, 2018, which was also memorable for another reason because I met PatrickStarrr.

The first livestream I did was done in an emptied Lazada conference room. We had no background, we barely had lighting, and we were still figuring out in general how to conduct livestreams. Livestreams generally involve a lot of repetition, as there are lags, and viewers do not tune in for the entirety of the livestream. We (me and the e-commerce marketers of L’Oréal) learned the nitty-gritty of how to best work in these conditions throughout the years.

Lazada now has an amazing studio, which is fully equipped with a tech booth, overhead lighting, and a dressing room. They also invest heavily in backgrounds and furniture. And from being assigned emptied conference rooms, there is already a legit assigned room as a studio for Lazada’s livestreams.

Now, I’m excited that L’Oréal is also learning how to independently conduct livestreams. While Lazada has its own studio, sometimes there are other brands using the studio in the desired timeslots, so the livestreams would be conducted instead in L’Oréal’s offices. This recent livestream and my Superstay Matte Ink Pinks livestream were conducted in L’Oréal’s office.

And yaaay thank you to Nicole and Thalia for helping. Oh gosh, in two years, I have made many friends! L’Oréal used to assign a marketing staff to livestreams, and slowly, they developed e-commerce departments, and then narrowed down job titles within e-commerce. In that process, I was able to meet many of the people assigned in the budding e-commerce department.
