Maybelline Color Sensational Inti-Matte Nudes Lipstick is Maybelline USA’s lipstick release for those who are looking for the soft and creamy texture that the creamy mattes have been known for, but with new takes on nudes. The original Creamy Mattes release did have a lot of great mauve and brown MLBB’s, but not exactly the nudes that this collection is offering. To fill in the gaps, they have a lot of beige shades and coral shades for this collection, which is why I was drawn to it a lot! Like Maybelline’s superstar Creamy Mattes collection, this collection also boasts a soft texture that doesn’t skid, whilst providing a luxe matte finish. This review is for the shade 565 Almond Rose.

Maybelline Color Sensational Inti-Mattes Lipstick is the nude sequel to Maybelline Creamy Mattes. The range is all about extensive iterations of beige based nudes, with some corals. The original release of Creamy Mattes was an exploration of the most commonly used shades, and then they expanded at some point with medium brown nudes. They seemed to want to fill gaps with these nudes. And of course, they offer all those color choices without sacrificing comfort.
Creamy Mattes lipsticks are famous for being soft, easy-gliding, and lightweight (like a light lip balm). While some brands use a waxy approach to make a matte finish lipstick, this uses a powdery texture to achieve its matte finish. But of course, this is less powdery than Maybelline’s The Powder Mattes.
The lipsticks are mostly opaque and generally pigmented. There are some very light nude shades in the collection that take some effort to build to an opaque level, but generally, all are opaque. The color payoff is great, as expected from a Maybelline lipstick. While the colors can cover the lips fully, this lipstick cannot cover up dry patches, so it’s best to use this with lips that have been properly moisturized and exfoliated.
Like other Maybelline lipsticks, this will need retouching throughout the day. It’s among the softest and comfiest matte lipsticks in the market, but the tradeoff is this will wear off quite easily after eating. It moves quite a lot as well, so that will also cause some fading. Since these shades are mostly light nudes, they won’t leave a tint, so it can be pretty obvious once they’ve started to fade.
I personally liked the colors of this collection, but I was told that it could not be brought in to the Philippines as the shades were too light and too coral. Most coral and peach tones don’t do well in the Philippine market, so even if a collection does well abroad, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the collection will be brought in. In the end, for Inti-Mattes in the Philippines, there was an Asian release which featured a mix of shades from The Creamy Mattes and The Powder Mattes instead.
At US$7.49 for 4.2g, it’s a good purchase overall, like other Maybelline lipsticks. It’s very affordable for a truly matte lipstick that’s very comfortable and comes in chic shades. It’s a great way for a user with very dry lips to be able to enjoy matte lips without having to go through the discomfort that a liquid lipstick might give. As someone with really dry lips, I have relied on Maybelline lipsticks for many years now due to the softness and comfort of the lipsticks. I think people in the same situation feel the same way as well.
