BLK Cosmetics K-Beauty K-Drama All-Day Intense Matte Lipstick Two-Tone Edition is such a long name, but I guess it kinda shows how versatile this lipstick is that so many functions went into its name! This is a two-toned lipstick that can be mixed, used separately, or used in gradation fashion. This can also potentially be used as a cream blush for those who wish to do so, as the colors will work for that purpose. This review is for the shade Dandelion.

BLK Cosmetics K-Beauty K-Drama All-Day Intense Matte Lipstick Two-Tone Edition is among the 2019 releases of the brand for its K-drama sub-collection within its K-Beauty collection. Gosh, that was such a mouthful! This is why I don’t think the brand identifies this as such in its online channels as the name is too long. This is basically their

All-Day Intense Matte Lipstick

formulation done in shades inspired by Korean scenery, and in a two-toned version. The brand took versatility into consideration heavily in this collection, as it was launched alongside liquid eyeshadows and all-over paints that come in color palettes that could be used for the eyes, lips, and cheeks altogether. This lipstick can be worn in many ways, each side can be worn as a single shade, the shades can be mixed to make a hybrid shade, and the two shades can also be worn in a Korean gradation fashion.The texture is like other All-Day Intense Matte Lipsticks from the brand. It’s got a matte finish, but it is not too powdery that it can still go on thinly. It’s just creamy enough so as not to skid, and waxy enough so as not to be too soft and difficult to use. It’s powdery, but also not too powdery, thanks to the balance of waxiness in the formulation. True to the original formulation which is enriched with Vitamin E and Camellia Oil, this feels nourishing even if it goes on so thinly, so this is among the more comfortable choices for people with dry lips like me. If I want to go for a completely matte finish, I can rely on this to be comfortable enough to use for the day.

I guess I’m just a bit concerned about the shape of the lipstick as it’s the type that has the potential to break if not applied with care. It’s firm, but since it’s not a curved shape to exactly match the contours of the lips, one will need to take some care to apply to make sure that it won’t tilt or bend. I also think that with a duo lipstick, one shade is bound to get used up faster than the other, and if that happens, the lipstick can also be unstably imbalanced. I recommend buyers to take care in applying from the start so that this lipstick can be used to its full potential.

So yeah, in terms of pigmentation, the formulation itself is pigmented and the color payoff is good, but due to the shape of the lipstick, it may take a bit more time to get this to the desired pigmentation levels as one would want to take care to apply it gently.

At Php399 for 3.4g, it’s a great product in the sense that it already has two shades in one. One lipstick will realistically take forever to use up, so for those who want to expand their color palettes, this is a great way to do so. I also like that the colors of this particular lipstick can also be used on the cheeks, and the nude one potentially can be used as eye makeup base as well. So it’s very versatile and I’m sure that there are many applications for it that I have not thought of. One will just really need to take care while using it to prevent potential breakage, but other than that, I like the overall idea and insight behind this product.
