Time flies so quickly! I think this is already BlackPink’s third year as Olens’ muses (if I counted right). In the past three years, Olens has also launched a lot of flagship collections to lead the contact lens industry into the modern times. Colored contact users are now very specific what they want when it comes to graphic diameter, color, design, and outer ring, unlike back then when we’d all be happy to use anything colored with a ring. We now understand that contact lenses can change up a look as much as any other makeup item, so we saw Olens launch the Spanish, Vivi Ring, and Scandi collections in recent years. Spanish responds to the need for a middle-drama contact lens, Vivi Ring gives a more subtle approach to circle lens for the modern user, and Scandi brings a truly lifelike appearance to life. As such, it’s no wonder that these collections are BlackPink’s favorites! These lenses are also among my own personal Olens favorites, so I thought I’d show you their picks for this post. 

LISA’S PICK: SPANISH CIRCLE GRAY

Lisa is fond of gray shades, and I’ve seen her model Scandi Gray and Symphony Gray before. But she has taken a liking to Spanish Circle Gray as of late. The Spanish Circle series is all about a mid-brightness creamy color palette paired with a subtle but clear ring. This gray shade in particular has a light gray center design surrounded by a creamy gray ring. I was quite surprised that this photographs quite well, as it looks very subtle in real life! This is meant for those who are looking for just the right kind of drama in terms of color and ring style.

 

 

JENNIE’S PICK: SCANDI GRAY

Jennie has long been into Scandi, and when I was asked to feature Scandi last year, gray was already Jennie’s favorite shade. The Scandi collection is all about a bright color palette without an outer ring and a color pattern that closely mimics the eye’s natural patterns. I personally really like this lens series as this looks very good in photos! This has been a dream-come-true kind of series for me as I like really bright eye color designs, but I don’t like harsh rings. This also has a very narrow graphic diameter, so it looks very lifelike. Indeed, we’ve evolved and gone far beyond the days of crazy circle lenses with thick and dark black rings!

ROSÉ’S PICK: SCANDI  OLIVE

Rosé is also into the Scandi collection, but her pick is Olive. This has also been her pick since last year, and for good reason! She always has blonde hair, so I think that Olive is able to balance out the color tones of her hair. I used to also think that Gray was the best contact lens color for any purpose or reason, but after trying out several Olens green lenses this year, I realized that green lenses actually work well on my pinkish skin tones! Olive is the most natural-looking color for Asians, so if you’re looking for an eye-brightening effect without a lot of drama, Olive is the perfect shade for you. 

JISOO’S PICK: VIVI RING BROWN

Jisoo is into Vivi Ring Brown, and I think she has a general preference for brown color contacts as she also has modeled Scandi Hazel before. Jisoo has very delicate features, so while any color would look perfect on her, I also do think that subtle designs like Vivi Ring bring out her beauty more instead of overpowering it. Vivi Rng series is perfect for those who are looking for subtle lenses for work or school, as it’s easy to pair with an everyday makeup look. There are plenty of pretty gray lenses in this world, but some would need to be paired with a more dramatic eyeshadow look to balance off the look.
