EB Advance Vinyl Lip Gloss Review |
The texture of this gloss is a good adaptation to the Filipino lifestyle. It’s thin, runny, and with no sticky feel. There’s also no rancid, greasy taste when you accidentally lick it. Even when you pile it on thickly, there’s no greasy feel that somehow makes it to the back of your throat after a while, as is the case with most other glosses. Since it’s not sticky at all, it’s also not the end of the world if your hair accidentally sticks to the gloss. It’s a very comfortable gloss to use, and thankfully not the type of the gloss to magically suck all the dust and pollution from the air. I can’t be the only one who gets annoyed whenever that happens!
However, since it’s so thin and wispy, it really doesn’t last for a long time on the lips. Since it’s quite runny, it will have the tendency to thin out quite quickly, especially if you have the mannerism of puckering often. This is an item that I think is more of a selfie helper to make your lips look plumper in photos, or to create a certain eye or lip look, but this is not the type of gloss you’d apply and expect to last the whole day. Since this is a very comfortable gloss, I don’t mind reapplying several times throughout the day, rather than using a thick and heavy gloss. To add, since the main ingredient is refined mineral oil, this gloss also works somewhat like lip balm, making it tolerable for those with dry lips.
Since this is transparent, it works very well as a topper. This can also be used on the eyelids or cheeks for high shine looks. While it’s coral red in the tube, the coral red coloring doesn’t translate at all when applied, so it will not interfere with the color of whatever you want to top it over. For those who do not have dry lips, this actually looks cute alone. But for someone like me with very dry lips, often with dry patches and colored patches (when I wear lip tint or colored balm, color pigments always stay on the dry patches and don’t get removed until the dry skin gets sloughed off), I can’t wear this alone.
I like the sleek packaging and the nice approach to make it coral red. It’s among the list of products that are already so satisfying to look at just from presentation alone. I also like that since the product is so plain and basic, I feel like I can use this as a mixing medium for various editorial looks. This can be added to eyeshadow pigments for a high shine approach, or to glitters to add another dimension of sparkle.
