I’m just so glad that Hada Labo entered the Philippine market in August 2019, because if it had done so later, its entrance would most probably have been halted by the pandemic. It made it just in time to bring in its famous Gokujyun range, and now it’s back with its Shirojyun range. For the Japanophiles out there, the purpose of this range is easy to understand, with 白 that means white, and 潤 that refers to smooth skin. The Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium Whitening range is aimed at bringing out transparent skin from within by helping the skin prevent spots and other UV-caused skin damage whilst keeping the skin moist.
In Japan, the range is very extensive, but for its Philippine entry, they have brought in the Lotion and the Face Wash. But I do think that they may bring in the Face Jelly and the Mask Sheets if there is a high demand for it! So many people like Hada Labo in the Philippines anyway, so it’s only a matter of time before they bring in other products from this range as well as other product ranges.
Of course, they had to bring in the lotion as this is Hada Labo’s most popular product type and also the one that works so well with the Philippine heat. Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium Whitening Lotion (Php665 for 170mL) has the staple hyaluronic acid Hada Labo is known for, making skin supple and preventing skin dehydration. But for this range, there is also Tranexamic Acid to fight dark spots and restore skin radiance plus Vitamins C & E to fight sun damage after sun exposure. Hada Labo’s Whitening Lotion comes in the light and easily absorbed texture that we’re used to. This is also pH balanced, alcohol-free, fragrance-free, and mineral oil-free.
They also worked on creating a face wash that worked towards the same goals. Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium High Purity Arbutin Face Wash (Php374 for 100g) also has the 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid Hada Labo is known for, but it also has high purity Arbutin to brighten the skin, hyacinth orchid root extract to soothe and calm the skin, and peppervine root extract to revitalize the skin. This triple anti-pollution formula helps to form a protective barrier to the skin to reduce pollution damage to the skin. Like the lotion, Hada Labo’s Premium Whitening Face Wash is also fragrance-free, mineral oil-free, alcohol-free, and comes with no added colorants.
For those who wish to try out the range first before buying full-sized items, they do have a Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium Whitening Trial Set (Php452/set)! The nice thing is that they also have the Water Cream in this set, which thus far, seems to not be sold separately yet.
